SPRING 2026 Routine Team

All-Levels West Coast Swing

Routines are an excellent opportunity to elevate your skills with more challenging choreography than you typically encounter on the social floor. Being part of our dance routine teams is an incredible journey, and you'll forge lasting friendships through your participation.

Skill level required: 2 months of beginner WCS classes at the start of training. Continuing to take classes. You must be familiar with West Coast Swing basics and some variations, learning to apply them on the social dance floor. This is a great opportunity for those participating in Remix Swing's dance classes who want to enhance their skills.

Practices: Sundays 5-7pm (2hrs) starting April 26th, 2026

Performances:  Tuesday, June 9th (Dance It Off Tuesday in Waterloo Public Square) & Saturday June 13th (Dance Party), potentially weekend of June 19/20 -- others may be added near the end of routine season.

Additional costs:  $30-50 for your costume, note that costumes for this routine will be low-key and work with common items that most people have in their wardrobe already.

Partnering: You are responsible for finding your own partner for this routine (cost is per person, not per couple). However, if you're having trouble, please let us know and we will do our best to facilitate partnering! You can also fill out this form.

All-Levels West Coast Swing

Every year West Coast Swing dancers from around the world participate in the International WCS Rally / Flashmob. We all learn a global choreography and perform it in our local communities on the first weekend in September (typically).

At Remix Swing we take pride in participating in this fun and inclusive routine that connects us to the global WCS community.

No partner is needed for this routine team, and there are no formal costumes (just recommended street-wear colours for final filming). We rotate partners and film in multiple locations so everyone gets a chance to be in the final video.
